I purchased a front outboard cv boot for my 2004 SP 500 from American CV and it does not fit. This it part #BK-5P02 and it is suppose to be a replacement for Polaris #2201015. The joint/wheel side of the boot is too large and it will not seal properly. If you are looking for an alternative to the OEM boot, this is not it. Looks like I'll be getting one from the dealer after all.

they may have mixed you up, which i would contact them, i bought some aftermarket boots for my kawasaki, don't remember which brand, were 2 for $25 shipped, with bands and grease, been riding with it for 1000 miles now and works great

No mix up. They were very nice and have no problems with the return. I also tried the Precision #8409 that others have reported using with success, and I had the same problem with it. The Precision was a nice boot and was thicker than the American and OEM. It was also the least expensive one. I just got back from the dealer and installed the OEM boot. It was immediately apparent that it fit better. I think part of the difference was with the design of the inside lip. Perhaps I over-reacted but I could not see risking damage to my CV in an attempt to save $15.
