Guys.
Im about to purchase a set of Bighorns for my 500 SP LE.
It has right now front 26x8 r12 and back 26x11 r12 PTX tires.
I want to put 27" bighorns, but they dont come in 8" & 11", only 9" & 12".
will this give me any problems.

First, those 27" horns are really too much for a 500ho. They actually measure 28" and they are heavy tires. They will take alot out of that 500ho. With this said, I know they will fit your stock wheels without problems rubbing on the bike anywhere, if it's a 2005 or newer model. I'm not sure on the pre-2005 years. I would suggest you go with a 25" horn as it measure 26", and definetely no bigger than 26" horns. Anyway, to answer you question, 27" horns will fit without problems, or lifts and spacers.

Ok...
considering that 25 are just as 26's and I have Stock PXT 26 's on my 06 SP500.
What would you say if I get 26 BH, from what you posted it seems that 26's are almost 27'.
The thing is I want a slightly taller tire, but dont want the machinde to suffer for it.
Will it be Ok. if I stick to 26" horns, or are they to heavy.

26" horns do in fact measure 27". Actually, with 6-7psi mine measure 27 and 1/4 inches. You will feel some decrease in power from the machine, but it will not be nearly as bad as the 27". I would still reccommend a 25" for a 500ho from a performance stand point, but the ho will handle the 26". I do suggest if you go with the 26" getting a hc clutch kit, if you haven't already. This will help ALOT!
