does anyone know if a 1997 sportsman oil tank will fit on a 2003 sportsman

I think this swap has been done before although I recall there is an issue with the sizes of the oil lines. There may be a thread on this already. I don't recall the outcome.

Yep, I put an aluminum(pre-2000)oil tank on my wifes 2002 sportsman. Bolted right up except the oil lines were smaller on the aluminum tank. Very easy conversion and much more durable than the cheap plastic ones that always seem to leak
