Went for a 2 day ride this weekend and bumped the air up from 4.5 to 6. On the X2 it really worked well for me. It is easier to turn and turns much sharper and doesn't seem to want to push as bad. The ride felt about the same. This was all on sandy soil so my next test might be this weekend if Greg is gonna take the X2 crew to Arkansas. I just wonder if the extra weight of the X2 has anything to do with it. At 4.5lbs I sometimes felt as if I had a flat and the tires just looked low.

Wow...the BRP does not like that much air in the BH's, I wonder if it's due to the different suspension types? Rides like a rock and bounces all over the place on rough trails if put that much in 'em. On smoother hard pack trails, I'll run 5 in the fronts.

I also run 6lbs in my 26" horns. ATVer, the bouncing has alot to do with the weight. The popo's extra weight keeps the tires more planted to the ground, as the lighter bomb tends to bounce as if it's on ballons.

The gross weight of quad and rider have most to do with air pressure. If the sidewall isn't rigid enough and feels like it's flexing too much on a turn, it probably could use a little more air.

Yeah, they are expensive. You could always fill them all the way with fix-a-flat! That should keep them from bouncing Big Grin

I have found after running the bighorns for the last four years air pressure does make a big difference with these tires, and that holds true for other tires.

I run 3psi all four tires, when we are rock crawling or super rocky terrain, just to get that larger footprint, and increase traction.

I run 7psi for basic trail riding, hard pack, fast pace riding etc... Just get better gas mileage, don't get as much push with them, etc...

Ronnie, that is interesting at 4.5lbs on the X2 they shrink that much. I ran the bighorns on the Grizz this weekend at 4psi, and they worked really well, but riding like Arkansas I would bump it up too 7psi.

We should have an X2 convention this weekend, lol. Will be there. I got the new brush guard in, putting it on tonight, and will be putting on teh bighorns this week.

I run the 25" Bighorns at 5.5. Most guys that have the 26" Bighorns run them between 7-9 so the can steer easier in the tight stuff.(ride suffers though)
Bighorns offer the best ride on rough trails at high speeds bar none!
