I have a new 800T with about 250 miles on it. This weekend at about 150 miles I shut it off and when I went to restart it just spittered and sputtered. No power. I could pump the throttle and make it run up a little in rpm but would not pull the machine. I started several times with the same problem and then it all of the sudden it would start and run fine. This happened about 10 times this weekend. I have seen some threads about the fuel pumps and I was wondering if they work partially and then work fine. I am taking to the dealer this week but just wanted some thoughts to give him, it will probably run fine at the dealer. I just unloaded it off the truck and it did the same thing. Eventually it started normally and I ran it down the road and it was fine.
Following is what I do know:
This weekend I put gas in it directly from two different gas stations. I have not drained the fuel tank yet but I will. I do not think it is fuel because when it ran it ran great. I was over 60mph on the highway and pulled through some heavey mud. (West Virginia)
I could hear the fuel pump each time, hard to say how loud with a helmet on.
It also seemed to idle low and rough a lot of the time around 900-950 rpm.
The problem got progressively worse. The first time it happened was Fri night and then it happened several times Sat and near the end almost everytime I would start it I would have to restart 3 or 4 time before it would start up normally. It does not seem to matter if it is hot or cold.

I would appreciate any thoughts. Also how and where do you drain the gas tank.

Bob

I had a broken wire on the connector going to the map sensor. When the factory installed the wire tie to the plastic cover someone pulled it too tight.

Thats exactly what mine does when the battery cables are loose. I think when you start cranking the voltage drop messes up the ECU or something. I know it sounds bogus because it cranks fine but I swear it has happen a couple times now and 2 seconds with a 10 mill wrench cures it.

I have an engine code 41 which is Air Temp low/high. I will check the wires on it and the battery cables.
