ok now any got any input on how to get my 06 rubicon to run better? my old wornout popo 500 with 6000 miles will leave it behind on the trails or on the road. both bikes are basically stock. the honda says 32 hp and i think the popo was 35 the honda weighs 150 lbs less so i thought they would be a little closer in performance the honda tops out at about 53 the popo has seen 62 on the speedo and was still going thanks

I don't think there is alot you can do with that honda speed wise.

I know I have raced a few hondas from the 400 to the 650 or what ever the big honda is and I have beat every one of them with my 500X2. The only real mod I have done to it is put a healclicker in and people that have riden other pops with HCs have said it dont feal like I have one so I probley don't have it set right.

What I am getting at there aint much you can do to the honda that will make it go faster than a polaris.

Maybe this forum being dead is a sign of the future of Honda and as Jeff Foxworthy would say: "Here's your Sign!"

With all the offerings of the other manufacturer's, I think Honda is so far behind in the sports-utility market that this forum may stay dead as others show their excitement of owning atv's which continue to improve and leave Honda farther behind.

From what I have seen and rode....the Honda is a good product for the farma and deer woods,, but, as far as technology and performance... not up to par... You would think with ALL of Honda'a resources ..they would step up............

Yeah sold my Rincon and was gonna wait based on strong rumors of new features being added to the Rincon this year. But now I just don't know. Even if they do announce that or bigger bore bike it would be next summer I guess before it would be releasd. I am thinking of just going ahead a buying another big bore.

Thats a long time to wait and have waited a lot and been very patient so far but thats a lot of time you could be out enjoying riding. And even then there is no promise they will even announce anything new but everyone is pretty much expecting atleast Power Steering to be added to the 09 Rincon.

I would really like a V Twin for my next quad. I waited before selling my Old Rincon for 2 years and tried the new 06 when it frist came out and was really dissapointed in it also. I think I am just gonna get another brand and if Honda ever steps up then I will be looking at them again.

I agree. I was a Honda man for years. First one bought in 1984, 2d 1985, 3rd 1986, 4th 2000, last 2003. It was a Rincon 650. Really good handling, smooth riding bike. I loved it til the tranny started messing up at about 3500 miles. Put 5K miles on it and gave up. That transmission sucks. Traded it in on a KQ 450. I can't believe that Honda hasn't offered any more IRS models. It doesn't have to be a big bore, just something. It's almost like they just make a few just to say they are still in business. In the mean time MANY of us die-hard Honda fans are jumping ship. By the way, I love the KQ 450
