I'm planning a trip to St Anthony dunes and was looking for some tips on tuning my 07 TRX450r for 5000ft elevation. My 450 has the HRC kit with K&N and LRD pipe I think I'm running a 162 main jet. Any help would be great.

Usually 94% of the size you have now for higher elevations.
What elevation do you ride at now? Does the quad run well with the 162?

162 X .094 = 152.28

There are still a lot of variables like air temp, humidity that will effect your mixtures.

I never changed jets on my 350x unless I went over 7000' and I lived at sea level. You may not have to change at all,or very little

I live at sea level and ride at Winchester Bay and Florence Oregon. The HRC kit includes, camshaft, exhaust tip, head pipe and gaskets, breather, CDI sub harness, main jet, needle jet and accelerator pump bypass jet. I opted for the LRD pipe instead of the exhaust tip.

A couple of months ago I rode the Pauite Trail at elevations from about 6000 to 11000 feet and really didn't notice much of a performance drop on my Suzuki Vinson. The jetting is stock.

The ultimate high elevation tuning trick would be to ......

buy an EFI popo.
