Okay, I did something real stupid. After draining the oil I was getting ready to refill the oil tank and a small plastic tip from my funnel fell into the tank. Its approx. 1 1/2 in long. Question is should I take the oil tank off and retrieve it or will it be okay to leave it in? I looked at the tank break-down in the service manual and I can't tell if it is an issue or not. HELP!

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I would be too paranoid that it might could get wedged in the passage and block or restrict oil flow. If it were me, I'd get it out of there.

I would fish it out, with my luck it would get sucked up somewhere it didnt belong 50 miles from the truck.

I figured I would have to pull the oil tank and hopefully it will shake out. I'm worried it will block the line for the oil cooler.

DITTO, fish it out. If you can see it, try putting a sticky tape on a coat hanger to try and snag it.

Well I removed the oil tank and turned the tank up-side down and out came the plastic tube. Took about 1 hour and back running for the weekend.

Thanks to all that responded.
