I for one would like to see a Ruby style engine and tranny in a EFI 700 with a front lockable 4x4 system and IRS.

But I am not going to bet my next pay check on it taking place.

How about a sport quad with IRS? Yup, they have a 700 sporty planned with IRS.

I do like that Honda uses a technology other than CVT for transmissions. Unfortunately that is about the only area they have, which is not enough to keep up with the rest of the pack.

I could not agree more.
I have been a big Honda fan for many years, but due to the fact that most ride like a lumber wagon (besides the Rinny), and also due to a lack of a lockable 4x4 system is what prompted me to look and buy outside of the Honda realm.

Still waiting on the Rinny with 1) Low gear, 2) Locker, and 3) power steering (pull it off the Foreman 475), and then you will see a post from me saying "I pulled the trigger on a Rincon." Still got my Rubicon, but anxiously waiting to upgrade.

I did read some accurate predictions this year from Atvtech. He works at a dealership and knows someone inside or a rep I think. He told me about the Side by Side and the new Sport 700 coming.

He said that next year Honda was gonna have full featured big bore which I assume will still be the Rincon but it would turn all four wheels and would have power steering. But he said they still wouldn't go over 700ccs. So thats all I have heard and if it was true I would wait. I myself am thinking of picking up a leftover 07 Rincon while they are dealing on them.

I bet the biggest majority of us cut our teeth on Honda's, I started with a Fourtrax 300, so I have a soft spot for them too. As I progressed as a rider (no laughing) the Honda machines couldn't keep up. It's a shame, but we can keep hoping!

Yup, first motorized OHV I used/owned was an old Honda 185S three-wheeler. This was back when I was really young, I can't even remember if it even had suspension. I had lots of fun on that thing.

It's not the Rincon that's holding Honda back, though. They really need to bring their whole utility line up to speed. I rode a Rubicon quite extensively when they first came out and I loved the transmission. Very innovative. But, it's not a complete package yet. Where's the locker? Where's the IRS? Fuel injection? Throw these on there and the Rubicon would be a very worthy competitor in the 500 class. I would be happy to purchase Rubi if it had these things with a competitive price. I also think the Rancher should come in both IRS and solid axle versions. The Recon could be left as it is because it is still a solid performer in the 250 utility class, with the only one topping it so far is maybe the Ozark.

While I did not cut my teeth on Honda having owned a 02 Polaris Sportsman 500X as a first quad. I have had many excellent trouble free years as a Honda owner.

Honda will always have a special spot in my heart.
