I took the shift motor off and the gear wont move that it goes to and I thought it was supposed to move freely. I have a code 5 when doing diagnostics. battry isn't hooked up and I hit the gear screw driver and wrench and also pried on it to the point of almost breaking

got the gear moving but every time I try to reset the system or as manual says initialize it the shift motor turns but the gear keeps locking up
