Anyone use a plow with their HONDU? Do you have problem with springs sagging?

Brother inlaw uses his '00 Rancher and my old 60" cycle country. Although I didn't ask, but I assume was no use with our latest storm. Snow to sleet to freezing rain to sleet to freezing rain. So needless to say was about 2 to 3 inches of hard crusty snow and ice.

Tried it on the Ruby but the Black Line plow was WAY to heavy and yes the spring took a beating trying to carry all that weight.

I am most certain that a standard plow that uses push tubes would have no problems with sag as when using push tubes a lot of the weight is transfered to the center of the quad with very little weight being applied to the front.

While the weight of the plow itself will put some down force on the springs when in the raised position the sag should not be all that much, approx 1 to 2 inches at the most.

On a HONDU that would be half the GC. ROFL

Just got off the phone with STRINGBEAN in Iowa, you never heard so much begging pleading whineing and bawling out of an old guy. HONDU owners are a bunch of whiners anyway should have expected it. Shrug He wants to try these adjusters bad, they have two HONDU's there with plows on them so will take back and see how they work.

Good idea, riding up and down the driveway might be the best riding they've done in Iowa this year. Big Grin

The driveway incline isn't too steep is it? If so... the plow may be pushing the Honda back down to the bottom..... ROFL

Darn just alittle complaining and all he$$ breaks out. All I wanted is Cob to run my Hondu up and down the drive so he can go back to
Coberado and eat his heart out? Well maybe not that bad but he will be treated to a great time and will get the Warriors to fix the world famous beans and they will be late getting on the train
Any way enough of my rambling so have a safe and Merry Christmas and a happy hang over from the great state of Iowa

Got a dozer style blade from rocky mountain atv on my 450 foreman... had to increase air pressure in front tires, but other than that it handles the weight without issue. Works just fine.

Snack,
How does the dozer work for ya?

A coworker of mine just ordered the city slicker after thinking twice of the dozer.

How does the dozer work when angled in reverse direction? or is it a one way directional plow?

I initialy bought the 50" city slicker last year. I was concerned about the weight with the dozer or anything larger than a 50".
It worked fine until we had all that snow that kept comming and hung around for two months... was piling up higher and higher. Got to the point where I couldn't plow at an angle anymore. Was too high to pile so I had to plow straight and turned out being very ineffective for me. My driveway is 70ft long gravel.
I found someone to buy my city slicker blade for half price and I ordered a 50" dozer. Bolted right up. Used it once this season already and it worked great. Threw the snow alot further instead of just rolling it to the side. Yes it is one direction only and throws to the right. I suppose you could still angle it to the left and plow, but you're not going to throw the snow.
It is heavier than the straight blade, but the quad does fine with it... really can't tell the difference. It comes with a 4" rubber strip that mounts along the top of it as well to keep snow from comming over the top when you're cruising... the faster you go the further it throws the snow. Guess that's why the road plows use that style.
Rocky Mountain ATV was great... free shipping and it was here in two days.

Glad to hear that it works for you Snackman.

We are suppose to get snow starting tonight, but right now it is a slow drizzle, just hope it doesn't turn freezing rain.

If it does turn to snow, I might get a chance to play on the wheeler again.
