Taking a trip out to Utah in Sept 08.

Riding up to approx 11500 ft. Has anyone had any riding experience with the Quad at high altitudes?

Any recommendations for mods if any are needed.

I have a Uni filter and 2" power tip now.

Since you've got EFI you shouldn't need to do anything than keep the air filter clean. If it works like they're supposed to, everything else is take care of!

I had mine to to Flag Mtn in Colorado. If not familiar it is a steep climb up which tops out at 12,713 feet. 1st time I was slowing down nearing the top, 2nd time a few days later I didn't think I was gonna make it. My brother-inlaw let off the throttle and got back on it, and he said it helped. I have an '06, he has a '07. I also had a little bit of the same thing going up Napoleon.

I'm headed back to this area and going to attempt Antero (13,728). I did modify my air box lid, and a K&N with outerwear's is on the way. I'm hoping this will be enough to get me up there.

Whole ATV was gone over prior to trip, Air filter was clean, and majority of the time there I was the lead quad.

There's also This Topic. I am sticking with only the intake mods listed here. Unless somebody can convince me to do more. I don't need to fly, just cruise along and not loose ground, if you know what I mean.

I owuld get an aftermarket filter with a higher flow cage like UNI or Twin... Remove the whole air lid and carry it in your pack. That is about it for power improvement. I had one too many oh no! moments up there on my Rinny. I got two cylinders to propel me now!
