While we did not have tons of hours on ours before we traded for the Rhino we (wife and I) thought they had plenty of power and we both thought the ride was wonderful.

The powersteering sure is a wonderful addition, one that I sure do miss.

We really liked the ability to change from 2 to 3 to full time 4 wheel drive.

I don't have a bad thing to say about the Grizz.

Good luck

I replied over on the Can Am section, but to answer your question about power between the Polaris and the Grizz,...I wasn't as impressed with the 800 as I thought I would be, but the Can Am 800 is another story, a sad one, but another story! ROFL I was looking at a 2 up Can Am for awhile and wouldn't of had a problem going with the 650.

Ride as many different quads as you can then decide. Just getting out of the fast and need to go faster scene these 4x4s that weigh 3x more then the racers and go 70+ is crazy. The Grizz is not a racer but it gets the job done for me just fine.

Don't forget the King Quad too! Big Grin
It's all the Griz is, and I prefer the handling and layout.
Just sayin'

I have yet to be towed on my Sportman, but I have towed a few and jump started a Mighty Grizzly a half dozen times on Saturday just to get us back to the trailer! Big Grin

Quote from greg fuller: "What a great day for a great ride! Weather held out even though it looked like the front was moving in. The staging area was pretty busy today. We headed up to Bill Moore Lake for some great views, then back down to make the Mill Creek loop with a little diversion up Mill Creek. Some folks hiked in from the Fall River side and were staying at the comfy Empire Hilton. Stopped for a little lunch and then on down to Red Elephant. We took a side trail off of Red Elephant that links back up at the bottom of Red Elephant Hill. Once on the side trail the Grizz got a little grumpy and refused to run. RB had to come back and give the Grizz a jump. We proceeded on down the little side trail, which was quite impressive and tight. As I was going it appears the battery was in bad shape and may possibly not be charging. That’s when you realize the power steering & fan require juice. I can tell you a Grizz with EPS, when it is not working becomes a bear to steer, unimaginably more than a non-EPS unit. Red Elephant hill was quite a delight to charge up it with difficult steering. There was one point the Grizz was on it’s way over the side, but when it doubt gas it out. I’d prefer to crawl up the rocks but hey, ridin’s ridin!

Had a great time, trekked most of the area, even if it was cut short. Big thanks to RB for the half dozen or more jumpstarts.

I got home and had trouble getting my shirt off due to my new Popeye forearms.

And another big thanks to Rock on earlier this year coming up with the idea to carry a set of mini jumper cables when you ride. I made some and threw them in the cargo box. Good thing! I may have still been up there. " End quote.

I guess maybe you don't read too well especially if you don't like what is being said. I don't know exactly how many times is was and it didn't matter. We had to get back to the trailer and jump starting it was easier and safer than towing! Big Grin

I read well ... just funny how you jump when you get something against other brands .... .... and Capital letters would of been better for my vision Smile

Regarding the original post .... this guy is speaking from his personal experience so let him be. The original question relates to power .... not "breakage". I guess he made up his mind about that

You may have to pull the polaris home but if it doesn't quit you can get their in a hurry. From what I have seen the 700Grizz isn't any faster than the 660.The Grizz

It isn't. Got both and the 700 has more snap and low end then the 660. SPEED is not what the Grizz has ever been about.

I have always heard the KQ's handling was not all that great? Did they fix the front end on the later models?

I switched from a SP800 to a 08 Griz this fall. As far as comparing the two. My reasons for the switch: Better engine braking (all 4 wheels), EPS, weight, rider comfort is great, cost, imo - a more refined machine.

No it won't compete off the line against a SP800 but thats not what I bought it for. I spend half my time between 10 - 20 mph
(cattle ranching, hunting etc) the other half is at speed trail rides. I felt this was the wheeler that best suited my needs right now.

As far as rider comfort: I had back surgery 3 years ago and I could spend all day on the SP800 and I can spend all day on the Grizz with no ill efects.

They're both great quads, (except for Cabman's) I think his was "B" stock or something. ROFL

I love the V-Twin, but sure would like EPS. Maybe next year.... seems CanAm improves them every year.
