Us old folks here in E. Tx. usually drive all the way to Ok or Ar to ride the hills. Bout all we got here is them damn mud parks. Just can't put my machines through all that. Too much maintenance and clean-up. I really like those Ar and Ok mountains. It's too pretty for us River Rats from E. Tx but we do enjoy. Usually stay about a week when we go. Our bunch has toy haulers so we just camp in the National Forest where we can.

We do about 2 Mud rides a year. Usually at Pool Ranch or Mud Creek. For sure we do not attend the Nationals or any of those organized events. Too many people and fools.

Voodoo, where's your rides in LA? I'm sure there's a lot of mud, but we might try at least once. Could I get thru it with 26" Big Horns?

You guys come on over to Barnwell Mountain in Gilmer. For you Quitman boys it is just down the road. It doesn't have any mud so no need to worry about that. We could just make a day ride out of it. It has everything from easy riding to oh crap why did I pick this trail. For members it is 15 bucks a day and for non members it is 20 plus you have to buy the 8 dollar Texas parks and Wildlife sticker. When you boys want to come ride let me know and I will check my schedule.

Yeah TX has a severe lack of public riding areas. Now with the price of fuel out of hand I am not sure how much towing I will do this summer. At this rate it will cost a thousand bucks to haul to Colorado this year... Slap

Yea, when and if we get that $1,200.00 tax rebate, we plan to stimulate the economy by spending it on a trip to Colorado. That should buy the fuel, guess we just won't eat.

Ronnie, we'll try to get together sometime on the Barnwell Mtn. thing. I used to ride dirt bikes on that property in the 70's. It was known as Lone Star Steel property then and was just open to ride. Those days are over for sure.

Hello all, yeah I know what you mean about the price of fuel. Last year I made 3 trips to Colorado to go riding up there with my buddies but this year I will probably make only one trip. Have to start looking for some places locally to ride.

I can think of at least a half dozen atv parks within 3 hours of Katy/Houston area. But like the post above said, if you don't like lots of mud and water then don't bother. That happens to be all I ride in. Maintenance and cleaning is definetly an issue though.
