Rode out of Swamp Lady parking area today (Sunday). We couldn't believe how dry and dusty it was. We figured with all the rain we've had on the flatland that it'd be muddy up there.

We rode for about 2 1/2 hours. Trails were in good shape. Stopped at a pretty overlook and enjoyed lunch and just relaxed. Saw a doe - no baby fawn tagging along with her.

The Rincons did great. I still have a smile on my face it was sooooo good to get out and ride!

Hope lots of you got a chance to ride this weekend. Sunday was gorgeous. Maybe we are finally getting summer weather.

Hi Cob - No didn't see any snow. It is the greenest I've seen in years so they have been getting moisture. The wild flowers are also pretty this year.

Sounds like Central City still has some snow in the Kingston Peak area. Maybe in a week or so the snow will melt off. That's always a good ride.

Happy Trails!

I think you may want to give it a few weeks unless the temps get really warm up there.

I bet you are right. This is one of those years it's going to be mid-July before we can get to the high peaks.

Hope you guys are getting some serious riding done this year. Actually, snow can be fun!

Spent Sunday scouting some new places in the airplane. Let Centennial and out over Central City, Still snow blocking Kingston peak. I could not tell in 149 was open to Jenny lake, there were cars in the parking lot at the Portal. Winter Park trails were open so is everything around Kremling. Made it over to Eagle and up towards Rudi Resevoir, no snow, wandered over to Glenwood Springs and north towards Meeker, all the trails north and a little west of Glenwood were all open, Some some campers and trucks with trailer and ATV's, I believe this area is part of the Flat Top, and there was not snow, elevations were all around 10,000 feet. Went to Meeker and then back tracked towards Kremling and south towards Red Cone. I was east of webster pass but there was no snow on Red Cone or the trail leading up to it. Maybe next week I will venture over towards TP and gunison, but the snow is receeding fast. Lets go ride.

I heard from some people that went up to Jenny Creek. Made it to the top where the last section was blocked by some significant snow.

As far as Kingston Peak, the last little leg that goes up hill and then turns left across the north face toward James Peak Lake trail has significant snow drifts that will be awhile before they are passable. We rode on top of the snow for about 150 yards but as the hill gets steeper, you start digging in.

Frm where the quads are the trail goes to the left of the tree that is on the right hand edge of the picture in the middle.

Thanks all for the report. That is pretty much what we ran into snow at about 11,000 ft.
