Is it worth putting an outerwears on a unifilter or would that be overkill? I was thinking it would extend the foam filter between cleanings!

I would definitely do it, anything to protect and keep dust out is good. Ive got outerwear over K&N

The UNI actually has a foam outerware already on it. I have ran UNI for years and properly oiling the outside element you shouldn't have to worry about the inside. I washed the inside about once a year and most of the time it didn't need it then. That is why they call it a 2 stage foam filter.

All I run are UNI's, and I ride in EXTREME dust alot during the summer. I wash and oil BOTH the outer and inner foam after each ride.
