Has anyone found GOOD ratcheting tie downs ?
Seems like the 4 for $20 500 lb. straps I use get more and more loose in the ratchet buckle each time I use them. At first, when arriving at ride spot, they would be tight, now they are loose when I get where I'm going.

Thanks,

I use the goodyear ones they are only $19.95 at sams club and they work realy well. They are a bit long but if you realy feel the need you can cut them shorter. I have used them to tie down cars as well the atv with out any losening doing the ride.

To me the best sraps are from MONTANA JACKS. They are super strong and best part is the cam will move any place on the strap. No mater what you are rying to tie down the cam will all ways be in wrong spot. ROFL

I like tire bonnets and have had really good luck with them. There is a lot less stress on the straps when you're not trying to tie down the suspension.

Interesting strap. How does the strap not lose tension at the cam buckle when you ratchet it down tight ?

Thanks ScottCo - Seen those. Like the idea a lot but I'd need to mount something on my wood trailer deck to be able to use those and I'd rather not, yet .

Those may be worth a try.
Went to Lowes today, they had the really cheap ones , and some for $20 each that looked like you could tie down a tank.

Another vote for the Rat-Cams, I have 4 sets and used them before the trailer dogs. Gave a set as a Xmas present (new not my used ones), and they love them too.

I've had a bunch of them (just like the others) the MJ Rat Cams are by far the best! You'll thank us later.

I found out long ago that you have to get a full turn of the hub that results in the pressure applied from the load to get a good bite all the way around the strap wrapped hub they tend to stay tight until you release them. I have run 5 miles up some of the worse pot holed road in the state at Rampart and never had a cheap set of Wal-Fart special straps holding the quad to the trailer come loose.

Another vote here for the tire bonnets, I have been using them for a couple years now and wouldn't go back to regular straps.
