Well, I got the box sold this week and now am going to combine the $$ from that and the gift cert from MT Jacks I received at the Potluck and buy a soft bag. I am looking at the Koplin line and see there are a couple different bags that will suit my needs. I need something that will be tear restant for when it kisses a tree or brush and hold the riding neccessitiees for summer as well as all the other crud I carry in the winter along with spare water and food.

I am looking at the KOL-92125 large contoured bag with the removable front compartments. Main compartment-31" W X 13" H X 11.5" plus two removables-9" High X 5" Deep X 10" Long for a total volume of 5534 cubic inches. Those compartments seem like a good idea because I can pack those the night before with food and drink and keep them in the fridge until morning or leave them off if I am going for a work party or other times. This will elliminate the need to carry a cooler. For $95 seems like a decent value but seems a bit big.

Kolpin Contoured Cargo Bag KOL-92165. Dimensions are 13" Long X 28" Wide X 8" High with non removable front compartments for a total volume of 2912 cubic inches. This one seems a bit more compact than the Large. This may not get in the way as much when doing off camber stuff and boucing down the trail. This one also has a nice place to strap downa jacket on the outside so you don't have to dig through or mess with the bag to put away or get out a jacket. At $74 seems a bit more economical. Better value?

Another one I am looking at is the Sealtector Bag KOL-20647. Small bag dimensions 29"L x 13"W x 6"H for a total volume of 2262 cubic inches. The description sounds like the zippers are even tougher than standard zippers but how much is this marketing? Also has exterior lashing points for jackets etc. Not as many compartments as the prior ones but seems to be tough as nails. Does anyone have any first hand experience and know if the fabric is tough as well? $79. Good value?

I had heard some stories about zipper failures on the Koplins. Has anyone here had that problem or not with these specific bags? All input would be greatly appreciated.

AJ ,I've got the Tamarack bag it is about 2years old and is holding up pretty good. Has 2 removable bags on the main bag that are straped on , they have zippers and they are holding up well. the main bag has removable panels that can compartmentalize the bag. when its dirty I just hose it off ,its waterproff and dries quick. , a little pricy but has been a good bag their website has all the latest and greatest.

For an economical solution, Cabela's has been clearing out a MadDog rear bag which I recently purchased from their "Bargain Cave" for $20.

The one I got has zippers, but for $20 it seems like an excellent bag.

We brought the Koplin Matrix cooler bag, it has a storage bag on each side. The cooler holds 18 cans. Paid around $130 for it.

The first day we used the cooler, the liner cracked and water would leak out and sometimes run down the seat and make for a cold butt. A day later one of the zippers busted open on the wrong side of the zipper pull. So we tried to pull the zipper back to fix and broke the zipper pull.

Other than that the bag is great!! Mad
