The first part of June hubby and I headed to Nevada to do some riding. We met up with our oldest son, Mike and his wife Theresa. It was Theresa's first trip out on her new King Quad 700 and their first real trip in their new Toy Hauler. It was also my first trip out in a year and the first time out in the Bigfoot truck camper. We had downsized from a 26 travel trailer. I loved the camper!

Walker River Resort LINK is about 12 miles S/SW of Yerrington, Nevada in the Smith Valley. They have cabins to rent as well as about 110 RV spots. The elevation is 4,700 ft. Very nice and comfortable place to stay. They offer a world class skeet shooting range and endless miles of roads and trails to ride an ATV on. You do have to travel back and forth on the same road for some distance in order to access the various trails. This is not really a problem as you can make good time on the access road. You can ride out of camp but they are strict about the 5 MPH speed limit. I have no problem with that. We arrived on a Monday and the camp was only about 1/4 full but on Friday evening it was almost totally full. There were dirt bikes, ATVs, Skeet Shooters, Kids, Dogs and a lot of activity and fun. It was the most considerate group of people in a camp ground that I have met. Kids did not ride around the grounds, dogs were controlled and no one caused a problem. The shower facilities, small store with video rental and the bar were very nice. The bar is active when they host skeet shooting competitions but very quiet otherwise, or so they say.

There are steep, very steep, sand hills for the dirt bikers to climb and it is awesome to see them go almost straight up. There are smaller sand hills to play on as well. There is all kinds of ATV riding from low land (4,700 ft.) to the high desert country at 8,100 ft. The only downside was a couple of days of wind, it can blow there.

As always, the King Quad 700's performed flawlessly. It was a good trip!

Just so you know, even though the pictures show us without helmets rest assured helmets are put on as soon as the engine is started.

We found the camper to be very comfortable and a lot less hassle to park, pack and clean up when you get home. Since we spend most of our time outside the size is no big deal. A good used one was a little hard to find since we were limited to a short bed pickup, but patience paid off. The first time we loaded it on the back of the pickup was quite and "experience" --- Big Grin good thing we don't have close neighbors. Big Grin

Glad you all liked the pictures.
