Been back a week today from Taylor Park Res. Colorado. Met Sujada but was in to much of a hurry to leave for Aspen. Never got around to looking him back up. Was sure nice to put a face to the name. Real nice ride, better the second time. 10 customers of the Polaris dealer all friends now, enjoyed a week riding. 2 people were newbies, the rest second timers to over 10 times, (the dealer). 1357 miles one way, over 11000 feet of elevation difference and fantastic scenery. Terrible heat and headwind west Kansas and East Co. on way out, 103 to 109 degrees, 1 to 6 PM Saturday.
Flag Mountain was great. Aspen ok, ran out of time due to rain and tram shut down. Tin Cup and St. Elmo and Mirror Lake were great. Rode a few other places as well.
The Trading Post at TP spoke of a tax that Crested Butte has applied to all sales that is used to buy land, give to the government and to use only for non-motorized activities. You are supposed to be able ask to remove the tax, not pay it but you have to ask. Also there is a 33% tax when a person builds a house that is used as a welfare fund to build homes for the lazy. The tree huggers are so fanatical that they are stepping all over the average persons rights. Sure do not want to lose TP riding areas.
