After the Taylor Park Potluck, Jean and I left for Roy, UT to visit our daughter and family for a week. Had a great time visiting, going to the skate park with the grandson's and a trip to the Crystal hot springs pool and slide for an afternoon.

Since I was going to be so close, I had PM'd a fellow Quadsquader Deolman and told him I'd like to stop by and meet him. We arranged to go on a ride last Friday on the Shoshone trail system in Northern UT. Had a great ride of 53 miles according to the gps. It's a great trail system to have basically in his back yard with enough loops for what ever you have time to ride. And a good variety of trail difficulty for whatever you enjoy.
We rode up to the area where Old Ephraim's (a huge grizzly bear) was killed in 1923 and were hoping to continue on North to the Sink Hole area, but decided to catch a shorter loop due to the heat. We caught Trail 26 back towards the pickup and it was posted No Maintainance, No low clearance vehicles. Great trail running down the canyon along the creek that was almost totally overgrown in areas and opened to an Artesian spring waterfall above the camping area's that was really neat. Some Pictures and a video are linked to below:

2009 UT Shoshone Trail

Saturday afternoon, we left UT and started back for home and work. Sunday, we turned south off of I-80 at Walcott and took WY 130 through Saratoga and Centennial before rejoing the interstate at Laramie. That's another area I now have on my list of places to go camping and riding at when I can arrange time to do it. I have a few pictures of the area I'll get uploaded and link to later.
