I just got back from Browning Fork trails. http://www.trailsheaven.com/explore_the_trails/browningfork/.
We covered around 40 miles each day, lots of site seeing and breaks. We ran almost all the trails except for the extreme trail and a couple loops that were shut down due to gas drilling.
11 in our group with 3 Honda EX300s and a 250, a 300 4 Trax, a Honda 150 dirt bike, 2 450 Grizzlys, 1 AC 700H1, 1 Can Am 400, and my 500 X2.
No breakage or injurys! All the atvs did well, the EX300s went everywhere the 4wds did. The only trouble the 2wds had was on the start of the extreme trail, it was very steep and loose and the 2wds ran out of momentom and had to turn back. We ran across a couple difficult spots on the black trails, the 2wds just slid down over the ledges and we strapped the 4wds down to keep them upright.
We swapped atvs for comparson for a few miles. The Grizzly guys thought the AC/CanAm/Polaris are too big and we felt the Grizzes felt like childrens atvs.
The only complaint with the CanAm is the viscos lock, couldn't climb ledges without lots of spinning, but did seem to have the best steering and handling.
The AC had lots of power on the hills and does sit tall but I didn't feel tippy, not any more than the CanAm or Polaris, the ride was as smooth as the rest. The AC was noisey and vibrating on decel and the steering would plow a little in corners.
Polaris is the biggest and heaviest and hardest to steer, but it does ride a little smoother, climb like a goat, and with the front rack and rear box it made a nice picnic table. It even felt bigger than the AC, when I jumped on the AC it even felt tiny to me.
The Grizzs worked very well, not as much power as the other 4wds with the 450 engine, but small frame and low stance made their owners feel safer on the extreme stuff.
I did use low a lot more than the others, the Polaris high range doesn't seem as low as the other makes. I noticed a couple times they would start out in high range on a fairly steep hill and when I tried to pull out it was very hard to get moving, could be the weight? or not as low in high range.

Glad you had a good time. It's nice going up there and taking advantage of what they have to offer. We go every year and it's my favorite ride we do. When we go we hit it hard and ride a different trail system each day. If it were closer I'd go once a month! lol

Sounds like some interesting riding... I've been thinking about starting to research new places for our 4 wheeling club - opentrailsatvclub.com to go for our long 4 wheeling trip. We've gone to South Dakota 2 years in a row and I think we should switch it up for 2009. Anywhere within 600 miles or so sounds good to me, but I'll have to see what everyone who's on the ride committee says have you guys been anywhere else that you really like?
