Well it was half-way warm today, so I decided to cable clamp up the broken winch cable and finish off the main plowing along with pushing the banks back over the edge to leave me room for the next storm.
LOTS of stucks, but nothing too bad that a shovel, front diff lock, reverse over-ride, and a ton of wiggling couldn't handle.
That was until I began pushing the snow over the edge where I have been building it up all winter long. The front started to sink, and then the back.

When I stepped off the quad, I sunk past my hips, (no where near the bottom of the 15 foot plus snow dump area) and had one hell of a time climbing back up.
Thinking I'm "The Man", I thought I would try to shovel and back it out. Bad idea. The front only tried to dig down deeper. I now dug it out a little more, and placed a jack on some plywood scraps in the snow to lift each tire and place some wood ramps under them with the intention of backing it up.

It was a lot spookier than it looked, but I managed to back it up a little.
I kept working it and ended up a little better, but the room for error now meant that I could loose the quad to the tree, or have it tumble with me on it down the rest of the hill.

Well, to save my quad or myself any damage, I got the Dodge to give me a hand.

Piece of cake. I just don't like pulling the quad with a truck because the handlebars will turn to one side and the quad likes to lift tires. All good though now, and back to plowing.
Just thought I would share.

Not the best arrangement in the world, but; it CAN be done!

When you need a pull to the rear, you can snake the winch line under the quad and anchor it behind you.

Works best when you anchor a SNATCH BLOCK, thread the cable over the pulley, then fasten the cable end to the rear of the quad (e.g., to the trailer hitch ball).

But, all's well that ends; glad you extracted yourself o.k.
