I rented a quad (Grizzly 350) and rode 717 yesterday with Atver, Rock on and StringBean.

It couldn't have been any better!

With a small group, we were able to keep up a fast-enough pace to cover 45 miles of awesome trails and beautiful scenery - and get the rental quad back on-time. It was short and sweet.

Enjoy the photos: Black Friday Ride

Uh Oh!

Here I was, making a list of what I still need to do before I head back east; and it was looking like a real short list. Wife was asking if I'm ready to come home yet.

Now I gotta re-evaluate my plans! LOL

When & Where? Big Grin

Thanks!!!

Oh yeah well it is easy to see you MISSED CC man the snow was perfect I don't know how many miles we covered but at least 3 were of trails we broke open. Almost made tree line at ST MARYS. ATVER was busting trails there was no stopping him or the Bomb , well at least till we could not go any farther. It was fun watching him once he would stop and we caught up with him each drift. We had at least a foot in most places after hitting the trails and it just got deeper the farther we went. Good part was that it was crusty on top and we went places that normally you wouldn't dream of going in the snow. This had to rate high in the best ride of 2009 for sure.

Prospector if it helps any we ATVER talked about you and how you would have enjoyed it. Slap Beer windy We could make next Saturday as I don't see lot of snow headed this way. There were several trails we just didn't have time to cover. windy

Totally bummed. It was good to go to Chicago to see the parental units but I really wish i was here to ride. 717 looks totally awesome and the fact that PT was able to ride was in fact miraculous. I guess it is like riding a bike, you never really forget. Spent 16 hours driving non-stop on Sat and resting today, back to work on Monday.

Maybe, if everything works out, MAYBE we can *all* ride *together* next weekend - including CF and Kenny. Maybe even At Moab Wink

Heck, I would even try Red Cone!

Cobs being nice....he was in front most of the ride busting drifts, and having a blast, poor poopsie was getting tossed around on the back like a little rag doll at times.

The only time I got in front was when he stopped to dig out Rockon for the third or fourth time. Then I saw my opening and took off. But Cob showed us the method on that one huge drift....full throttle, don't give it a chance to dig or bury. Worked great! You should have heard that Polaris 800 screaming when he went by me like a streak! FUN FUN FUN!

We ALL had fun! Seems like a really good time for some winter riding right now....but I don't think I would include Redcone in that!!!! Big Grin

I had missed Prospectors pics earlier. Man that sky was clear and beautiful. Thanks for the pics TIM that was awesome seeing the days worth of riding. I know the guys said it was really a good ride. Glad that you got to get back in the saddle after such a long dry spell.

No I hadn't forgotten about your ability and the fun times we had. Will never forget and I always think about the place on KINGSTON PEAK were you got stuck on top of the snow drift. I hooked a tow strap on you, pulled with every thing I had to no avail and that was with you at full throttle also. Then we realized that instead of forward in High or low you had it in reverse. I laughed so hard I was hoarse I know in the video later talking about it I was still hoarse. rol

Funny, I was thinking about that too. I was hoping You had FORGOT it.
But that was SO FUNNY - neither of us is likely to forget it.

That one right up there with the Killer Bees incident, our excursion onto the Prison Farm, the Quad Wash at Moab, the SP 700 Surprise, etc, etc...

Damn, I need to move back to Colorado and STAY!

Looks like a great ride. Thanks for the pics. I was laying down most of the day but it wasn't in my arm chair. I was laying under my truck puling my tranny to get it fixed. All better now but with my cold keeping me from work today, I won't be ready for a ride this weekend yet.
