Heading to Butte Monatana in about 28 days and going to make a stop in Deawood S.Dakota to ride in the Black hills.

Stayin in Deadwood at a place called mystic hills campground, they have cabins too and you can ride right from the cabins.
Has anybody ridin this area?

Anybody in the Butte area on here?
My family has quick access to the forest sevice roads and mining roads but I am going to get them to venture out and try some different types fo trails.

Rode ther last weekend. to the west of the look out station there is logging going on. logs across trail, some trail you can't get through.Good riding to the south and north. Mystic is about 10 miles south of Deadwood on highway 385. you can ride form Mystic to Custer crossing camp gound. That is 7 miles to the south. lots of riding there also. Hope you have a good time.

sp700k, thanks. I am looking forward to riding the black hills. I was hoping to ride more of the Badlands but I can't find anything on trails there.

Canambear, thanks I will would like that. I heard yall got snow last week? or the week before.

I just found out that if I want a place to sleep I am going to have to build it myself. My sister and bro law have had some delays in the home building process. (they are doing it all themselves).

A couple of yrs ago we rode some trails to the east of Butte just off the hwy coming from billings. It was just before you start to go down the mountian into Butte. We were trying to make it to some lake that my Bro-in-law mountian bikes to all the time but we hit a dead in and my parents weren't up for this one nasty boulder hill climb. so we turned back. Then another day we rode to the top of Red Mountian to the fire look out.

Only place I know of in the badlands is a place called Farmingdale. That is about 15 miles or so south of rapid city on east highway 44. Farmingdale is a place with a few familys. Go to the little store and turn right, about 3 to 4 mile and the riding area is on both sides of the road can't miss it. One side is national grass land and the other side is badlands. You'll have fun there. Look Farmingdale SD. up on the internet. May help Maybe not.

I want you to know I have been working hard finding you a good place to ride. We spent a few hours Saturday cutting the dead fall out of this one.

I can't wait, I haven't put the horns on our quads yet but will work on that tonight.

I Bro-in-law called last night telling me about some the trails they went out on yesterday behind their property and it sound pretty good.

I don't know what our schedules will be like but pm or email me the day/days you can ride.

Found a South Dakota ATV forum and they have a wealth of info on farmingdale and the black hills. Sounds like we may end up spending more time there, I don't know if we have time for it all.

The rider must not be a real Montanian. He wasn't shorts and a T-shirt. The snow that is still up in the mountains is amazing. I went for a drive last Sunday and still can't get where I wanted to go because the snow on the road is still 3 to 4 feet deep in areas. But I still managed to get a confirmed kill on 2 gophers. If you don't find any parts, it is not confirmed. Enjoy snow riding.
