Finally got to the 5k mile mark on my 08 Brute. Have made a effort to keep the miles off of it. Haven't been riding less, but have just been riding my '02 Prairie because it has the better tires, and runs just fine.

I still haven't found much to gripe about these machines. Acquiring the seldom needed parts is a gripe. For instance-every 4 to 5 thousand miles the handlebar cable that runs to the rear brake will break. When the '08 broke it took nearly two weeks for the stealer to get a replacement. Then dum-dum son smacked it in the rear and broke the taillight lense. Took nearly a month for that. But gee-thats just small stuff. At least the brakes are always there, the brakes on both machines are orignal, the front brakes on the 02 need replaced but golly, that machine sets at 18900 miles. Change the oil and filter, get them tuned up occasionaly, and just ride. Always feel the need to mention that the machines are used for utility use, no mudding, no dunking. Ride the Western US. Elevation from sea level, to just about 10k. Even went to negative altitudes(Salton Sea).

Reading QS and the issues other brands have, I guess I'm of the opinion that Kawi's are good rigs. At least the 650-750 platform.

My '08 is only at 2100 miles. But it seems to be doing pretty good.

I think this platform is a winner.
