Had the transmission rear output seal start leaking. I replaced the seal and tried a tech tip I've seen work on other applications.

I tried tightening up the garter spring just a little.
Just remove the spring off the new seal & find where the ends meet.
Unscrew it and cut two coils off of the big end. You may need a magnifying glass. That is one little bitty spring.
Screw the ends of the garter spring back together and reinstall it on the seal lip.

I'll tell ya in about a thousand miles if it did any good. Big Grin
