I did my 10hr break in service today. I will caution you all to check your front diffs. I will follow this up and look into rerouting or modifying the vent line. Maybe I will add a trap or separator on it. I had water in my front diff and I have not sunk this machine, only water to the top of the tires. It looks like the vent runs straight up the steering column. I blame the lack of inner fender cover on this.
The engine oil was clear and held about 2.5qts with the larger Bosch filter. My local AutoZone did not carry the Motorcraft, Purolator, or Delco part number. The oil still ran all over the skids, I would pay a fortune for a clean oil change system.
The rear diff was also nice and clean no signs of any friction material...

if you are talking about a silvery color in the front diff, its normal, its an assembly lube/coating they use, Polaris is really silver when you change the gear case fluids the first time...

now if you seen water come out, thats a different story...but if the fluid just looks silvery, thats from assembly

I am pretty familiar with the creamy goodness. I have rebuilt lots of engines with blown head and intake gaskets. I'll run it a few hours and dump it again to double check. I will check that vent to see where it runs. I am also planning on closing in the front fender and side engine openings. All other makers do this a lot better than Kawi. I do not like getting wet on my utility by surprise. The Zuki KQ is closed up like a small boat.

There's four vent lines that open to atmosphere under the inst. pod, between the handle bar clamps.
1. Front diff.
2. Rear diff.
3. Gas tank
4. Cooling fan

Are they open ended? if so I may make a filtered manifold to keep them safe! Thanks! What is that funny little inline check under the skid plate attached to the engine case?

The hoses all go to a manifold (metal piping) and are open ended. Problem is the pipes are all flush with the end. No room for a cap.
I think if a guy extended the pipes just a little, then you could fit breather caps on the ends.

Mine was wanting to vent gas up there, last week in Moab. I kept opening the gas cap to vent directly from the tank. Seemed to help a little, but not much.

they vent is run up in to the pod, so unless you got water that high, then its not water in the diff, unless there is a blow seal, which happens...

other problems i have seen, when people wash them, they spray water up in to the pod and get it in the vent line....

so i guess you need to check the lines if you say its milky and not just silver colored

Actually it doesn't go in to the pod. The vent lines terminate by the handlebar clamps.

Like I siad I think the wide open inner fenders are a problem when you splash through puddles. It shoots water right up the column.
Does this look like break in compound? You always post with so much doubt...

WOW Big Grin yup, thats water in the fluid, lol...

Rock On...'handlebar clamp', yup, thats in the pod...thats what I meant, i didn't mean tied to the pod itself, but for all purposes, thats in the pod...up high, but if you spray it with a hose when washing it, water will go in the vent, i know, it was one of the first things I was warned about by Bruce, who is on here, he had an 05, then an 07 and now and 08 BF

When washing I have learned to tape over the vent tubes at the handlebar clamp, since I get crazy at times when giving my Brute a good wash.
If you overfill the gas tank by filling into the gas tank neck, the gas will vent at the handlebar. Best is just to remove the white tube inside the gas tank neck & fill right to the bottom of the neck then reinstall the white tube. The White Tube is for anti-splash, suppose to keep the gas from venting thru the vent line but it only works if you Don't overfill.
