Hello,
I did a quick search on the site but I didn't see any mention of this recall, I wish I had known about it before this past weekend! I have about 17 hours on mile 05 Brute force 750i, I was riding this past weekend down a trail at about 20 - 25 mph when the quad took a hard turn to the right heading right for a tree, I jumped off and hit the dirt before impact, The tree didn't do much damage to the kawi, but when I looked at the front end the tires were pointing seperate ways, turns out the upper control arm bolt came out. I a bit mad that kawi did not notify me.... Here's the info:

February 28, 2005 February 28, 2005
Kawasaki is recalling the Brute Force ATV. On some units, the nut which secures the front upper suspension arm pivot bolt could come loose during vehicle use.
Continued use of the vehicle could allow the nut to come off, and the upper suspension A-arm pivot bolt to back partially out. This would result in a loss of steering control, and possibly cause the rider to crash and suffer injury or death.

Kawasaki has received 14 reports of incidents with three minor injuries reported.

The recalled Kawasaki ATVs include the Brute Force 750 4x4i model, which was manufactured between April 26, 2004 and September 10, 2004. The ATVs come in red, green, yellow or camouflage, and have the words “Kawasaki” and “Brute Force” printed on each side of the vehicle’s fuel tank. “VTwin 750” is printed on each side of the rear fenders, and “Kawasaki” is embossed on the front grille and rear mud flaps above the rear wheels.

Authorized Kawasaki dealers sold the ATVs from July 2004 through early September 2004 for about $7,599.

Consumers should stop using the ATVs immediately and contact their Kawasaki dealer to schedule an appointment for a free inspection and repair.

Consumer Contact: For more information, contact your Kawasaki dealer or call Kawasaki toll-free at (866) 802-9381 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

You are lucky, seems to me that this had been a often talked about thing. I was thinking I had seen many of the KAW guys say they had it done. I have made this a featured topic it will stay on the top.

Why are the control arms being replaced? How long have you been waiting? I have only heard of the tie rod issue before...

Sorry to read about your mishap. This Recall is Old on the BF750s, I had mine done over a year ago. Odd that Kawie didn't send you a recall notice..
My '05 750 was fine, didn't have the bolt problem but just to be on the safe side, I went ahead and safety wired that bolt/nut, both the left side and right side.

The a-arm recall is not for the BF750s but the P650s/700s.

Let me be straight up. Kawi 750 BF is "the" machine. Bang for your buck, away you go. You can buy a Kawi 750 BF and put the difference into your quad ( of a Outie 800cc $$$$$) and relly kick some ass. Of course your going to have different defect. Polaris has their own realm of discussions of their problems. My beef is that you are getting what you want. Most people don't know what they want. Work with the BF and it will do you justice.

Just to let you know, with mine, I can spank any Can Am 800 cc Outlander out there with mods (no boring). Bring on the Competition. Never raced a Renegade though.

Cheers, any questions?
Piss on Can Am

i dont know about a race but i pulled two out of the mud at the mud nationals . i had alittle race with a 2up 800 on a round track and a 800 pol i passed then on the inside and outside of the corners ,i agree the price of the brute rules here 7400.00 out the door and one of our buddies just got a left over for 6600. k/n- dyno- jet- hmf- moose box and ill run them all i cant justify the price difference and the biggest factor for me was look at the frame on the 800 .my h1 is not even in the same ballpark as the 750 its a lead sled its the old ladies bike now
