is it when you had the diff lock engaged? check and make sure it is adjusted right

also, be careful when locking in the diff lock that you don't lock it in and hammer on it...

No i just had it in regular 4x4 and there was a clunk and it quit. Then i tried it later and i had nothing none of the front wheels would turn. But if i would put it it diff lock i would have one of the front wheels turn just like its in 4x4. This is really puzzling me!!

4wd locks one tire, diff lock locks the other one, sounds like you lost something on the 4wd....you do have to be careful sometimes when going in to 4wd, if it starts to clunk, you can't get on it, or it can break from what i have read....

i would put the whole machine up on a atv jack from the center, so that all 4 tires are off the ground, then check it out and see what happens when you go in 4wd and then diff lock

You may have sheared those thin little engagement keys in the front drive assy.

Very interested in the outcome of this, mainly because over the years my 02 Prairie has been subject to much use and some abuse. Other then the worn block in the 4wd system, have had no problem. I've had it grind, clunk, whirr, pop in and out, bang, and sometimes I swore I heard it cuss. Have tried to engage it with the rear tires sliding, (much clattering) and other forms of abuse, but was always careful when engaging to make sure if stuck to carefully get on the throttle slowly to ensure the least amount of shock to the front diff. Heck, I even changed the oil occasionally.
