Well, my buddies with sport quads invited me to the sand dunes with them. So we went to Little Sahara in Waynoka, OK. They kind of laughed when I pulled up in my beast. Their quads were a new Yamaha raptor 700 something with trick dual exhaust and Elka's. A new KTM 525 mx quad with factory Ohlins. And tricked 450R Yamaha. Fortuneately these guys are heavier and older than me. I pushed them through the trails and kept up in the open sand. They kept asking if I was in 4wd etc, lol. They commented on the howl of the trans as I ran along. I tuned the Elkas for the sand as best I could. I had a little butt kicking in the whoop t doo sections I couldn't tune out. She sucked fuel but never left me stuck on a long climb or wanting for power as I chased them around.. I was very happy with the Brute's dune performance. I even grabbed more air than any of them.

Theres dunes down there, as far as I know just sand hills. Heavy UTE's really have a heck of a time in the dunes up here.

I went to those dunes years ago when I felt the need for speed and it was a blast. As much as I like trail riding there is nothing like haging it out on the sand dunes. It is alot softer also when you get kicked off the quad.
