I have stock and am happy with it. Twin Air and UNi make popular filters. I would stay clear of K&N's for off road use. eBay or any vendor, dealer can get them.

Thanks for the reply. What do you use to clean and oil it with ? I live in the Houston area and ride moderate mud and some sand down by the river.

Mines still stock. Gonna get a Twinn Air when I get a chance.
Air filter cleaner works well. Only oil it with Foam Filter Oil. More tacky, won't run.
Let it set out overnight to let the solvents evaporate.

CC1999 has run several dynos for HP improvement with nearly all of the aftermarket air filters and he tells me that they absolutely do nothing for increasing HP vs. stock..

So... don't waste your money..stick with stock..

I bought a PJ1 foam recharge kit from Rocky Mtn. It has the aerosol cleaner and oil. Of course dad just soaked them in gasoline in his day. At most I would buy an extra just to have a spare to rotate between cleanings.

I'm running the Uni Filter, works great...since the intake is a downdraft on the brute, i rather go with a stickier oil and filter than the K&N

Does it have a larger hole'd cage or any performance benefit over stock Dave?

to tell you the truth TX, I don't think any of the aftermarket filters work any better than the stock ones....the foam is different, maybe not as dense, but I couldn't really notice any difference...

I know the UNI for my Rincon replaced the stock fire supression cage as well. The stock holes were 1/8th inch maybe. The UNI cage had 3/8" holes in it's support cage so it flowed more air. Also I noticed that when I over oiled the filter it ran a full air fuel point rich and fouled the plug. I may run a wide band on this a while and see what the stock programming does. I should have welded in a bung before I had it coated.

Thanks for all the input. Think I'll just get a couple of spares for rotation. If I'm not gonna get significant improvement, can't see spending the cash.
