Or both? I can see the virtues of both, but what has worked out well to protect your beds?

I used Line -X in my F350, hauled and shoveled out lots of gravel, has held up great. I have had rubber bed mats and won't have one again. I wouldn't even consider a plastic one either.

It all depends on what you will be hauling. Spayin liners don't work for me at all. I pretty much have to use the plasic drop in's. I also normally keep a rubber mat handy incase I want to haul somthing I don't want to slide easy. We sell HVAC equipment to contractors. So moving heavy boxs on rubber or spay in liners is major pain the rear for me.

The bed mat is probably all I need, but I figured a spray in bed liner would probably protect the sides of the bed. I've never owned a pick-up before. I've owned Broncos from 1980 to 2002 when I bought my Expedition. Assuming I do both, what are the better products for spray in bed liners and bed mats? I'm a professional, so the only things I would haul are tools and the quad. I think a rubber mat would help prevent my tools from sliding around when they're in the bed.

I can see a pickup is going to change my habits. I always keep a tool box in the back of the Expy and sorted sundry other stuff. Since I took everything out of it last night, I was amazed how quiet it really was while driving it to work and the dealership this morning. That's really the way it should be, and I need to do a better job of managing what I carry.

I have LineX'd 5 of my trucks, I wish I sprayed my 05 when I got it... I have worked it hard and the bed shows. Even with my rubber mat the bed is caved in to the support rails and the gate is dinged to heck. I like Linex the best as it is applied hot and cures better that cold goopy liners. It makes these thinner cheaper truck beds hold up longer.
If you are carrying sharp pointy objects I would run a mat for insurance. I was low on funds after buying the new truck so I just bought a $40 heavy rubber mat. I love it because it was cheap and has kept stuff from sliding around, catches fluids etc. I wish I sprayed my truck when new, I got a pic of it clean though, lol!
If you get it sprayed make sure they pull the hardware first so you can maintain it without chipping the liner out.
My vote is Line X for sray in.
Penda for rubber mat.
If you are a true prof you can get a BedRug...

My L with LineX

I hated the drop in on my 93 1500. There was not any paint left under it after ten years.

The F250 with the $40 rubber mat.

Load of wood.

Couple bags o' crete.

I work as a professional, so I don't use my truck for work. However, I play somewhat rough and like to take care of my stuff. So preventing the bed from damage, hauling toys, tools, etc. is my goal. I plan on keeping it a while. At some point I'll buy a car for primary transportation and use this for hunting, hauling the wheeler, etc.

How well does it prevent things sliding around in the bed? That's what I was thinking a mat would help secure. I'm pretty sure we have a dealer in this area. I know one of the demo's I looked at had the Line-X on it.

Every time I have seen a mat or slide in liner used, it ends up rusting the bed because of the trapped water under it. My truck has the Line-X spray on liner and I am very happy with it. In fact, any new truck I might buy from now on will have a spray on liner put on it.

I had seen a multiple piece bed liner system on one of Stacey David's old Trucks show. That's what I was looking for information on and I think I found it. DualLiner Anyone have any tales about it? If you've never heard about it, check out the videos. It certainly looks impressive.

I looked at the dualliner when I bought my truck, I do not remember what it was about it, but did not care for it. Maybe I already had my head set on Line-X. If you go Line-X or Rhino lining, both are good products, but it really is up to the installer and how much they prep and know what they are doing. A good installer is key to the longevitiy and proper looks.

I say nay on the dual liner. It is a rubber mat with some cheesy hard plastic lay in sides. I have not had any water probs under my rubber mat. It is non skid but I drive like a mad man and bounce stuff around. I would do a spray in if you want tough, I would do a BedRug if you want fancy carpet.

I sort of like the non-skid properties of the rubber mats. I drive a little agressively myself. I've requested a price for the Line-X Xtra, but the local dealer doesn't do them. Closest dealer is Baton Rouge. I guess I don't care for what they do to the factory paint to apply the spray ins. I joined a F-150 forum and have been reading pros and cons on all the various products out there.

I'm also looking into a tonneau cover because I haul so much stuff back and forth to the camp, I can't get it all in the truck and want to keep it out of the weather.

I went with a Rubber bed mat from tractor-supply. Don't have to worry about water much as I also have a topper/cap on it. Things stay planted on that rubber mat.

Another vote for line-x.
After watching the plastic liner raise up in the center above the tailgate on highway I will never own a plastic liner again.

While not perfect, I would say that most things stay put and do not slide on top of the line-x.

I have a pic of my Snuglid above it is a SL 1000 with electronic remote release lock $1450 installed. The problem with hard covers is removing them for large objects.
I have three Lund Genisis Tri Folds in the family $350 each. They are a 30 second install/removal and keep the bed 95% dry. I leave it home for ATV trips and carrying the dog box.

My brothers 01 GMC, we get all the GM rails sprayed. Ford has good caps.

I also have pics of my LineX being applied. All they do is scuff the bed so the liner will adhere. I don't see the need for LineX Super unless you just want to spend the extra coin. Short beds are about 400-450 down here now.

My last 2 trucks had just heavy rubber mats, after 232,000 miles the 94 Sierra looked almost like new under the mat when I traded it. With the cost of the new Silverado diesel I decided that I was going to do all I could to protect it and had a spray in done (dealer used to be a "Line-X" installer, now they are "no-name"). I am glad I did it but stuff moved around a lot more on the spray-in than the old mats so I added a mat on top and couldn't be happier now.

Another vote for Line-X. Not only did I have my bed done, but also the side rocker panels on my 06 F150 Supercrew. Its the Dark Gray color and the Line-X blended in nicely. The roads where I live in the winter are nasty from all the cinder caltrans throws down, so any extra protection is a plus. My quad or any load I'm carrying does not move any more than on a rubber mat. Guarantee you though, if that rubber mat freezes, its slicker than snot, so Line-x would be a good $400 worth spending. Life time warranty is'nt too bad either.

I have had both and I prefer the spray in liners. But then I have a tool box in the back that I bolted ot the floor in the front of the bed so no tools sliding around.

As for the tonneue cover I have one of the Trifolds and they are nice 5 minutes off and on and that is by myself with one other person its less than a minute each way. Well worth the $400 price.
