They announced it yesterday that Volkswagen is unveiling a 2.0 TDI Bluetech Hybrid Diesel Engine for the Golf, Jetta, and eventually the Tiguan. It says that it will be getting 69.9mpg. I wish they still offered the Passat in a diesel.

We love our current Passat and would like to get another, perhaps VW will offer it with a diesel again.

Cat, I heard a rumor at the dealer last time they are considering brining the Passat back with a TDI. They are a bunch of Passat owners that want a diesel again. They are bringing the Jetta Wagon back this year with a 2.0 TDI BluTech. There was an article in my VW Owners Mag that showed a 09 Jetta Sport Wagon TDI that looked like a GLI Wagon. This will be interesting to me. But i am looking forward to seeing a new Tiguan TDI BluTech 4Motion. I think that will replace my 06 Jetta TDI.

Having dealt with Rabbits somewhat---certainly hope VW has cured their electrical quality issues. Pulled up behind a old Rabbit reciently, with a malfunctioning turnsignal. Brought back old memories.

I forgot where I read it, but I heard the new Passat base engine would be a diesel and the optional engine would be a gasser
