My shocks on the Expedition are toast. In looking for replacements, it appears Rancho now makes its RSX for my model. Does anyone have any experience with them? Would you repurchase them?

Not sure about the RSX. Never used them. I have the RS5000's on my Toyota with about 80k miles on them and they still work great. The shocks never seem to wear out like stockers; they are well worth the money you spend.

One piece of advice, I would go ahead and replace the stock rubber bushings that come with them with some Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushings. I had to replace the stock rubber ones a while back because they had disintegrated to nothing and the front ones actually melted to the bolt sleeve. After the new bushings, the truck rode like new again. They really make a big difference. It rides and handles so much better. I didn't think they would make that big of a difference.

These are more like struts. The newer Fords mount the spring on the shock/strut. I also had the RS series on my Bronco and they were good shocks. Apparently the struts have a silica bushing. Since the shock supports the weight the weight of the vehicle I'm pretty sure urethane would cold flow. I went ahead and ordered the RSX. From everything I found on this model, it was the best fit for me.

Cajun, give us a report on those new shocks when you get them installed. I gotta replace the shocks on my F150 sometime in the next several weeks. It uses the same strut-type setup in the front as your Expedition.

The RSX is a good daily driver. I use the 9000's because I tighten them up when towing heavy loads. RSX is a good auto valving shock.
