Mornin Boys.
Been workin on the PU again. It has a few bad spots on it but with the help of the lil Wife it is goin a lot easier. She even enjoys helping. Shes talkin bout makin herself some 60ies dresses for when we go to the loco meets. So far so good. .
Some day it will look like it used to.. This is bout the 6th or 7th time I redid it..
It's geared for the straight open freeways out west. I do have some problems with it back here sometimes with the back end being so light tho...

She has some she just didn't go and get one. She did ask me if I wanted one tho. I just asked her why she didn't go and get one for herself and that you wanted to know, she told me "cause I'm a tough Kiwi girl" I told she is to little to be tough. She's done slap on me now.

If you could see me closer you would think I had a shirt on with all the wrinkles I have. Gettin old does that, but it beats the alternatives. That was taken last fall, The sun was out and it was a nice cool day,, Remember cool days???

That boy would be me. We have been trying to decide what to do with all the stuff there (750 miles from me). My older brother wanted to just leave it as is and sell stuff when someone wanted it (we have neighbors watching it). After my older brother died in Sept 2006, little brother and I thought to stay the course. Due to some family conflicts, and a threat by the county to make us clean up the site, we decided just to let the salvage company take everything metal. Nearly 150 ton have been hauled out so far with 50 to 100 ton left to go. Click on wkayl on the youtube video to see the progress. Should be done in a couple of weeks.

I figured something was involved in junking everything. Some times you have to do what you have to do. And although money could of been made, it would of took some work and time. And the time part not every body has. The 750 miles sure didn't help, That's a deal killer in it self....
You don't have a left hand door latch for a 63 still laying around do ya?

Hope ya don't mind if I show off my 60 Chevy Apache pickup some. I think it looks a heep better than yours Hobbles but that's just my opinion. Big Grin

I built this twirly thingy for it

Here it is on the jig

And one more of it on the twirly thingy

The truck belonged to my Grandparents in VA. It sat for many years while I tried to talk my aunt out of it. Finally a few years ago she said I could have it. I towed it up here to CT and it's been sitting every since while I've been gathering some parts and tools... Lots of tools. I just got a roof off a fellow in CA. Came by Greyhound bus.

I have a few adjustments to the rotisserie (which I built) and then it's outside for some abrasive blasting. Then back into the garage for new floor pans, rocker panels, roof, etc etc...

Good project. Do you get much snow?? Always look in the background in pics, and looking at the rafters in the shed made me wonder about the snow.

Never mind-just noticed where your at. For some reason I thought you were in PA or somewhere up north.

Try GMC Pauls. They show a re-pro door latch. You can also try dirtydonnys@aol.com. I've bought several parts from him including the roof I just received.
