Well after wanting to do this mod I'd guess for a 1-1/2, I finally did it today. My truck came with the 4 up-fitter switches, so I thought it'd be an easy task (at least what I read) of splicing 2 wires together.

Here's the link right to the Ford Fleet page, you'll need adobe to view it.

I guess what messed me up hooking up this easy mod, was I didn't read what was needed to read. I knew where the blunt cut wires were for the upfitter switches, as I found them about a year ago. I needed to find the pass through wires (I thought), and then the wires at the module to connect the 1 to.

Right after I bought the truck I had them install a Ford remote start, they were nice enough to tuck that in under the dash right where all these blunt cut wires are. When I'm wearing my contacts I need reading glasses to see up close. These 2 things caused quite a lot of cussing and giving the truck the 2nd finger salute.

After searching under the hood I noticed the pass though wires don't match the colors of the upfitter switch wires. But where is the wires for the control module??? Removed the washer pump to get to the underhood fuse box, no extra wires here, put that back together and went back under the dash.

Hey! Looka here... Seems to be what I'm after. Had I read the bulletin I would have known were to look. Wires are right there near the switch wires, and tucked in with them is the pass though wires. Slap

Oh No!!! 3 purple wires, which 1 has the brown stripe??? No readers, so after a lot of squinting, light at different angles, I found the 1 I wanted, I think??? Took a breather, smoked a camel had a few sips of coffee, then looked again at all the purple wires. I had the right 1.

Spliced them together, started the truck, parking brake on, flipped the switch, and the trucks rpms increased. Bow to You

So anybody with the '08 Superduty that wants to do this mod, it is very easy. On the link "Read" Customer Access Wires for SEIC and VSO/CTO/PARK Signals.

Pictures on page 4, Module wires descriptions on page 6 (BCPSW is the Purple/Brown wire), Upfitter switch wires on page 10 (I went with AUX 4 the Brown wire, as was posted on the diesel stop to use).

A very easy upgrade if you have the upfitter switches.

I did the BCP high idle mod on all of our F250's. It takes ten minutes when you figure it out. I use the #4 fitter and I think it is a puprle with green stripe. I solder and heat shrink. Then install the fuse panel again.
