Anybody add a sway control to your ATV trailers??? I'm looking at getting 1 to control the swaying. In these parts the hwys have quite a few potholes, and frost bumps. Roads are twisty. So towing is a treat, looking in the mirrors the trailer does some pretty good dancing.

My trailer isn't heavy enough for a weight distribution hitch only having a max gross of 2990-lbs, and my truck is more then capable of towing that weight without a load hitch. Pondering the thought of getting a sway control though.

Any thoughts???

I dunno Kenny-I use a load leveling hitch most of the time, wheather its a heavy trailer, or a light one. I think if you ever tried it, you would also. As far as the sway control, never used it. I have one, but just never used it. I will someday though.

In my experience, you only will have a sway problem when you don't have adequate tongue weight. On my 4 place - tandem axle snowmobile trailer, if I only load one ATV on the front and two on the rear, I tend to have a problem. Loaded the other way with more weight up front, never a problem!

I'd check the tongue weight or trailer design if it is an open trailer. My enclosed 24ft sways due to semis and air flow across the highway. All waging the dog on open trailers was solved by moving the load further forward. Is it a home made trailer?
