Just a friendly reminder. Disconnect your outside hoses. I forgot to do this once and ended up replacing both of my outside spickets. This was not fun.

Thanks, for the reminder. I closed off the spigots and drained them just a short while ago. Temps tonight are to go down to 30*F.

We winterized the camper last weekend.

This weekend we are going to winterize the ATV's. There's still some gas in them so will put in STABIL, let them run for a few minutes to get the some of the Stabil into the carbs. Remove the batteries and store in the basement. Took emergency kit, slime, and anything else that might freeze out of the rear box.

The quads are stored in our enclosed trailer - looks like the quads will be ready for the cold weather!

Already planning on Moab in May!

This is an interesting thread for me. Here in northern California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains we do not have to do any real 'winterizing'.

It is rare when we get a hard freeze and we have plenty of notice when we do. I will cover some of my plants but that is it. Cars, quads and stuff are in the garage and that is all you do with them. I have NEVER had a water pipe freeze. the plus side of life where it freezes is that beautiful landscape of snow. Smile

Along the same lines, if you have a pressure washer that is kept in a unheated garage, make sure that is completely drained. I won't say why I remember this.

Also, when it is cold out. Becareful when touching metals. Like a hammer, with your tongue, in the middle of December, when it is in the negitives.

We've got company coming in from NE and TX for the Christmas holidays. Doing lots of family stuff. Then we are off to AZ in January - visiting my 83 year old Dad and 2 of my brothers. I do take my laptop along so I can keep in touch with quadsquad.

Most likely will not be doing any winter riding this year.

I'm sure you will have a blast on the New Year's Ride! I love pictures.
