Falling cleaning and getting pellets was the task for this weekend. Oh yah, and getting attacked by my QUAD. I think that it is mad at me for not getting out and riding much this summer. It started with the snow blade. As I went to walk past it, the darn thing jumped out and sliced open the front of my leg on Saturday. After a few words with it, I went back to work. Then on Sunday, it was an all out war on me. My son got the other quad stuck in the yard with a trailer full of rocks. About 800 pounds of rock full of black widows and hobo spiders. So I went back to the 800 to disconnect the dreaded snow blade. As I disconnted the blade I went to spool the cable back in on the winch and had hooked it up to the plow bracket. As I was tightening it up, I got my thumb caught between the cable and the front of the quad. It took about 30 seconds to figure out what I had done. Then I couldn't think of how to get it out. For the next 3 hours I had the imprint of the cable in my thumb. It is starting to bruise under the nail and really hurts. I had a few words with my quads. I think that they understand now who is the boss. We will see with hunting season just around the corner.

The lesson for all of us to remember is. We talk about safety of wearing helmets when we ride. We all need to remember just how much damage a winch cable can do. I may lose my nail from this dumb mistake. It could have been alot worse. So please be careful when using your winchs.
