In case you missed the latest Fishers ATV world they took a 1000 mile trip to Mexico. They started out with a really trick looking Ranger and Rhino.
I thought it was odd that Brian never mentioned the guide, he usually does at the beginning of one of the trips.

About half way there the guide literally abandoned them in the middle of nowhere and took the UTVs with him.

So they had to hire truck to haul them to a town where they could catch a train. They hop the train only to find out the trail only takes cash, which they don't have. 13hrs and an police escorted trip to the ATM later they are in a real town and hopping a plane home.

Moral of the story seems to be hire a reputable guide. Fisher described his as "bipolar".

Please buy my book "Paiute ATV Trail guide" at www.atvutah.com - I need gas money.

Saw that one a few weeks ago. This week and next is Moab.

I was just in Mexico and ran into a hard luck story from a man from Indiana that was preventing him & his family from leaving Mexico. Different country, different laws. Best to always go informed and be prepared.

My husband and I NEVER go to Mexico for our vacations. We have some very good friends that ended up in jail, their new Dodge truck taken (stolen by police), and less $5,000 cash from each to get back to USA. Needless to say, they will never go back to Mexico either.

Too much corruption for me to spend my money there.

Yep--I may step across the border at Algedonnes and get my teeth worked on, but won't go any farther then that. Years ago a cousin and me went down Baja a ways and had a great time, but that was then.

The teeth work was and is great. Several years ago, and still doing the job. My local dentist said the work done here could easly be 6 grand or better, I think I spent a little less then 2 grand.

My son is a Doctor in Houston and he has told me many time the best advise I ever gave him was to learn Spanish. He work in an ER and after five in the afternoon 98 % of the people who come into the ER are Spanish (Illegal). Because they know that the hospital can't turn them out just because they can't pay.
He is really deveploying a additude towards the illegal mexicans.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY
We are being INVADED from the South, CLOSE the borders before we find more terrorist, or get taken over by the Mexicans. If mexico wants 1.4 billiom$$ , then they can always become a bank or menber of the big3.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "Years ago". oNCE YOU GOT PAST THE BORDER towns you were in a different world. The people and police were friendly to us back in the 70's and 80'. The people would stick up for us and take care of us back then. We were their money and they knew it. They wanted us to come back to their place every time we could, they made us feel at home and amongst friends. Even when we would go to Tijuana to get our cars and trucks upholstered we would take a case of tall bud with us, and after we made the deal we would give the beer to the workers ( not the boss) and we were treaded real good there and at the bars we would go to as we were waiting. News travels fast down there. But from what I hear now, I don't think I would go back. I was on a sail boat race from New Port to Ensenada Mexico and hitch hiked back by myself and had a ball. I don't think I would do that again either. Times are a-chagin..
