It started raining here Saturday morning. For short times it was really heavy rain. Yesterday morning early, I dumped 1.15 out of the gauge. It RAINED all day yesterday and I dumped another 2.10 out this morning. It is still coming down. Country roads are a mess as this rain has for the most part come down slow and steady.

We have been in bad need of moisture for some time, so I am not complaining at all. Course I don't have crops still standing in the fields either. Besides the rain, the wind was howling at times and a lot of the milo & corn was blown down. This will make cutting these crops a real mess.

This morning when I came to work it was 45 degrees and they said on the radio that we had already reached our high of the day.

Fall is here.

Friday it rained for most of the day up in Bayfield, Sat was nice and warm.
And now it's raining once again.

The leaves have turned and are falling.
Soon the snow will be falling and the ground will be covered in a blanket of white.

I wish all we had received this weekend was rain. I had over 6 inches of the white stuff on my lawn yesterday. Most of the day it hovered around freezing. Because it snowed before the leaves fell, there were a lot of broken branches.

We are now up to 4 3/4" of rain. We have water standing, where it hasn't stood in 15 years or so. Even had a little bit of water running in the river (Arkansas) from the water draining out of town. Had several people in the lumberyard yesterday buying roof patch. I cant remember when the last time we had rain like this, been many years.

It was warmer in Gunnison, CO than it was in Dodge City, KS yesterday. Our high was only 44, Gunnison was 47.
