Looks like I am going on a business trip to Greenville, SC, one of our remote offices. Looking at the map, I will be about 150 miles from the Smoky mountains (like Gatlinburg, TN.). That is close to the south end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The wife has never been in this area and I was about 5 years old the only time I was there. Are there any folks out there that could give me some information on what sights would be nice to check out around November 6th or so time frame??? I may be too late for the fall color change. Unfortunely, we will not have our ATV's so this would be a scenic drive trip. Anyone that would like to give me some information, would appreciate it...

thanks

Sorry Exposed that I can not help you. I have never been south. The Amearican Automobile Association (AAA) has some great tour books that I am sure would give you a lot of information.

Cade's Cove is my favorite place. Beautiful valley up in the mountains where a community once existed. Several restored homes/barns. LOTS of wildlife to see (deer, black bear, and smaller critters).
Then go to the top of the mountains to Clingman's dome for more beauty.
Continue east down the NC side of the mountains to Cherokee NC for more beauty, tourist traps, & Indian Reservation Casino.
Back on the TN side in Pigeon Forge is where you may lose the wife...miles and miles of outlet stores. The only store that gets my $$ eveytime I pass thru that area is the Smokey Mountains Knife works...largest knife store in the U.S. and it also houses the national knife museum.
You can google all the places mentioned above for more info and directions.
I'll be up that way around Thanksgiving when family heads to TN for visit to parents.

That is what I was looking for... We have another office in Wilmington, DE and trying to make that office on the trip. That would allow me to start on the south end and go the north end of the Parkway.. That would be a great trip for a couple days...
thanks
