I do, but when things get interesting there won't be anything to power it. With horizonal rain and leaves, you can't see much out the windows anyway.

Watch the weather channel. They got folks placed in areas that are going to be decimated. I do notice a little more breeze than earlier. I also see some rain bands approaching Venice. Although we'll probably lose power, I can post with my Blackberry to let y'all know how I'm doing.

If y'all are curious where we're situated in the state. This is a pretty cool interactive tool to see the projected path with map detail. Geauxtiger is near New Roads (northwest of Baton Rouge) and I'm in Lafayette (intersection of I-10 and I-49). Neither of us is real close to the coast. You may have to zoom in a bit to see point on the map. Voodoo is near Monroe.

This hurricane sounds really powerful - very scarey. You all be safe. We are thinking of you. Anxious to see your post to know you all are okay.

Looking at the projected track on the NHC site doesn't really convey the magnitude of this storm. Take a look at Google Earth and turn on the weather option. The clouds associated with Gustav cover nearly half the Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe this hurricane will fizzle and let the media turn their attention back to the ever-exciting politics.

We sure could use the rain here in Southern Colorado. The ground is so dry and hard that raindrops just bounce back into the air and won't soak in.

Good luck to you down there on the coast. I hope to hear about how the worst of it missed you all.
