From all the models and graphs that Cajun posted and online, it looks like it's going to sit in La. for a while. One graph was showing to have up to 70 mph winds with the eye just south of Shreveport. Any way you look at it, looks like we are getting a lot of rain coming. Voodoo, a lot of times when they come though in that direction, it heads straight north and then northeast, depending on that jetstream. Hope you guys down there stay safe and hope you all don't have to much damage.

You all be safe. The wind and rain sound like they are going to be significant enough to cause a lot of damage. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Thinking of you all. Keep in touch.

Gustav is kicking some major butt in Cuba. The eyewall is approaching Cuba as a category 4 and they're speculating it will probably become a 5 once it gets back in the Gulf. Unfortunately the track isn't wavering.

And the models are still close together, but are showing signs of a pressure system that might turn it back down. That could put it on top of us for an extended period. Not a good thing if it comes in as a major hurricane.

There are now mandatory evacutations in Iberia and Vermilion Parishes and probably more to come. I'm waiting for the football games to get off the air to hear the local news.

I've keeping an eye on Gustav like you guys have been. I realize I'm way over here in Florida, but it is that time of year. Boy this one is realy starting to spin-up to be a monster. You folks out there along the northern Gulf, will be in my prayers for the coming days. You've seen it before, if it heads your way, Just Leave. Better to run and live than stay and die. Good luck and God Bless to you all.

Currently Rideless, hopefully an 800T in my future.

You can bet I'm watching it, but really don't have plans to leave. However, if it looks like it's coming in as a 4 or 5, I will hit I-49. I'm 30 miles from the coast and live in a very solid brick house. I'm surrounded by some rather big sturdy live oaks that help break the wind.

I am betting the path will follow pretty much like the Black Line on the bottom Charting... Jet Stream should push it East...

Well, It's 4:30 AM at my house, and this mornings models have the storm coming in a little further east than yesterday...meaning the Baton Rouge area (my house!) will take a strong hit. Son and I are about to go hook up the boat for a short fishing trip just up the road for a few hours before coming back to get everything tied down for the big blow overnight.
Thankfully, the storm has weakened to 'only' 125mph overnight Roll Eyes

Wait until the sun comes up. They're still saying it might become a 5, but are expecting it to be a 4.
