did you notice there are same riders pictures in that magazine and the new dirt wheels. Also same test on the polaris touring model. I wonder if the magazine is the same as dirt wheels, just a different name?

When a manufactor advertise just how lite their machine is. It makes one wonder what they scraficed to lose weight. When BF first came out they didn't have a trailer hitch to hold the weight down, they were sold as an after maket add on. The GRIZZ when first introduced had problem with the floor boards sagging because of the design of the floor board supports to save weight. The radiator was 2/3rds the size of a POLARIS radiator to save weight. You ROB PETER to PAY PAUL.

SHAWN I wondered about that also the articles were similar and in the same month mag.

I would like see a real test of what a utility is made for. I have observed ROCKON with his BF and you have to give them credit where credit is do, a fine machine for sure. I think last ride I was on there were 5 machines no two the same brand, at days end there wasn't one that stood out over the others. I think we were missing like this shootout a ZUKI and a HONDU.

You ride what makes you happy, what is important to these test riders to me leaves some thing to be desired many times. Of course that job is a damned if you do and damned if ya don't. No way to make everyone happy. I don't care what the RAGS say it is what I feel that means the most to me and I will buy what fits me in the end. Yeah is fun to read these things I had to sit down and read it soon as the RAG got here.

It just seemed funny that CAT came in last again even with this new machine. it is like last place is reserved for them, they have dominated that place over the years just hard get any higher I guess. Funny thing is I ride with two 700 KITTIES and they are an impressive machine to say the least. Yes several things I don't care about tem, I wouldn't want one. But watching them go places that others struggle with myself included it leaves you with a soft spot for them.

These "Of The Year!" awards remain suspect for several reasons; first, the WEIGHTING given by the testers to the different criteria (some call it, "bias"); for example, a GNCC racer may weight acceleration and speed differently from a trail-riding hunter . . .

Next, no universally-agreed standard criteria, like drag strip E.T.'s or top speeds, and their weightings, are present in the tests, as a rule.

And, finally; often, there's little variation between the candidates one year to the next, right? If so, why wouldn't a previous year's winner REPEAT, against essentially the same competition? Does this EVER happen? Don't think so, if so, it's rare; be it cars, bikes, ATVs or whatever . . .

So, my sage counsel and advice: Don't take this stuff too SERIOUSLY!!!!!! The "(fill in this blank)" Of The Year" awards seem more-or-less, "pot-boilers," something to stir up interest and discussion.

What's REALLY important, significant, and relevant?

YOUR choice for "ATV Of The Year!"

--------------

Oh, yeah; another semi-pet peeve of mine . . . assigning OBJECTIVE numbers to SUBJECTIVE evaluations and perceptions . . . as though putting a number on something MAKES it objective and "scientific" . . . and then adding up all the "points," determining a winner . . . about as fair and as just, as one of Josef Stalin's courtrooms . . .

I like that ..... did I mentioned the MSRP:
AC: $10.499 Confused
CanAM: $ 9,149
Polaris $ 8,599
Kawi $ 7,799
Griz & Zuki $ 7,599

GOD, I was wondering - if Polaris would of been first .... would you have the same adversion ???? This is just an article from people that MAY know more about ATV's than most of us. Why's so hard to take that? Think about where are they and where we are.

To this ?????

Never mind COB. I tought you'll get it that this was more fun for the 1000cc AC - nothing else. As you can see - the Grizz is NOT # 1 .... and I don't care. Why would I care about Polaris ? But hey ....
This moves the conversation somewhere else - somewhere where I didn't want to go ....
