Before setting a custom link to an Avatar, please resize the picture to 80 pixels X 80 pixels. Some folks have avatars that are 400kb in size and 1024 X 768. If you have a link to a custom avatar and have not resized the picture, then please do so as soon as possible. The large avatar causes page loading to hang up and pause while the full picture is loaded and then resized by the forum software. Please check your avatars and change as needed. This will benefit all members of this site and help speed things up. Thanks!!!

I forgot to add that I can help with the resize if needed. Just let me know. You can right click on avatars and then click on the properties window that opens to see what the size is. Should be around or less than 4kb in size. For instance, mine is 80pixels X 21pixels and 3.66kb. Anybody can do this and see the details.

An example of a little resizing and trimming. I took a 111-kb 800x600 pixel picture that would take a user on dial-up a half a day to load, and turned it into a 2.2-kb 80x80 pixel fast loading picture.
