I was not sure if people are aware of this software. It is a FREE alternative to Microsoft Office. It works on XP and VISTA. It has the equivalent of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and others It is made by Sun Microsystems and is a very good product. it will allow you to open and edit Microsoft Office Documents. Some of the fancy Layouts may not be an exact crossover but text and most things work just fine. version 2.3 does not open MS office 2007 documents but MS office 2003 and lower doesn't either unless you install a patch. Anyway give it a try if you are looking to buy Office this could save you several hundred Dollars Open Office

I've been using Open Office since shortly after it's initial release. For most users, it will do everything they ever will want to do without paying for all the unnecessary fluff that you pay uncle Bill for from Microsoft!

I agree, I have been using it for about 7 years I think. Takes a little getting used to after using Microsoft Office but now I use both equally well. Microsoft at work and Open at home.
