I am trying to get some video converted to burn onto a DVD so that a standard DVD player will recognize the video format. Does anyone have any suggestions? I found one but it is very cumbersome and I only got half way done with the whole process when I came to the end of the instructions, where it said "finish the project". I have the movie edited and ready to convert in Windows Movie Maker. Thanks in advance.

I use:

ADS Tech's DVDXpress DX2 to capture video to MPEG

Arcsoft's Showbiz DVD 2 to edit and format edited file to DVD format

Roxio's software to write it to DVD for play on DVD player

Just a note, some DVD players only like the DVD-R recordable CDs. If your video is greater than 120 minutes, you may have to split it to two DVDs or use multilayer DVD.

Thanks for the feedback Doelman. I think I will have to strip it down to CD length and burn video CDs instead as I forgot one minor detail. I don't have a DVD burner. Slap I have about an hour and 45 minutes of movie so am expecting to have to break it down to 3 or 4 disks that way but at least Dad will be able to watch it on his computer. Was just thinking he would be able to watch it on the TV. So much for short sightedness.

On that last post, I forgot all about this site. They have a lot of information. Including some on Video CDs.
