Well, you got me going in the right direction. It seemed it was my Internet zone security was set to high. I lowered it to med and all works fine now. I ran ShieldsUp and passed all 5 tests. I'm still in Stealth mode. I got the response that I wanted from the test,,

Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.
All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.

and

Your Internet port >edited by hobbles< does not appear to exist!
One or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! Standard Internet behavior requires port connection attempts to be answered with a success or refusal response. Therefore, only an attempt to connect to a nonexistent computer results in no response of either kind. But YOUR computer has DELIBERATELY CHOSEN NOT TO RESPOND (that's very cool!) which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities. A machine configured in this fashion is well hardened to Internet NetBIOS attack and intrusion.

I'm happy again,, thanks,,,

Just received an e mail from Zone Alarm and it tells me to do what I already did.
Law of average's states that I got to do something right once in a while..
I did the same thing with Netscape once. I found a problem and found a fix, then e mailed Netscape bout it and they sent me a thank you and a t shirt.

ZoneAlarm by Checkpoint is aware of this issue and working to provide a
permanent solution. As a temporary work around for the time being, we
would recommend the following:

1.) Open the ZoneAlarm client by double-clicking the ZA icon in the lower
right hand corner of your screen.
2.) Select Firewall on the left hand side of the client.
3.) Click the Main tab on the top right of the client.
4.) Set the Internet Zone at Medium.
5.) Try the internet again

This happened to me too hobbles, I was setting up a new PC and after doing windows updates I could not go back. I kept getting an error. my security settings were too high. so I changed it back and all was well. weird that they would make a update do that. glad to see it just did not happen to me LOL
